About Christopher

A Life Built
on Purpose

Christopher Forsythe's journey began with a simple act of reaching out to a football club chairman in Belfast to ask whether spare football kits could be sent to a community in Sunyani, Ghana.

What started as a small effort to support young people through sport gradually evolved into a broader mission focused on youth empowerment, community development, healthcare innovation, and long-term social impact.

Born in Ghana as Joseph Antoh Adarkwa and later adopted by the late George Christopher Forsythe, his experiences across different cultures and environments helped shape a perspective grounded in resilience, inclusion, and opportunity creation.

Today, through Forsports Foundation, DigiCare Health Solutions, and other community-driven initiatives, his work continues to focus on building systems and programmes that create meaningful impact across underserved communities in Ghana.

Formation in Ghana
Early Years

Formation in Ghana

Born in Ghana as Joseph Antoh Adarkwa, Christopher’s early years were shaped by the realities of a society where opportunity was often determined by circumstance. Growing up within communities filled with both potential and structural challenges helped form an early awareness of inequality, resilience, and the importance of access. His life later evolved across cultures after being adopted by the late George Christopher Forsythe, eventually leading to dual Ghanaian and Irish citizenship and a perspective shaped by both grassroots African realities and international exposure.

Education & The Conversation That Changed Everything

Education & The Conversation That Changed Everything

While studying at Belfast Metropolitan University and volunteering with Bryson House Charitable Group, Christopher reached out to Glentoran Football Club with a simple request: whether spare football kits could be donated to young people in Sunyani, Ghana. That conversation, and the support that followed, became the foundation for a journey that would eventually grow far beyond football.

From Sunyani’s Community Pitch to the World Cup Stage

The Glentoran Football Academy was established in Sunyani, creating opportunities for young people through football development and mentorship. Among the young talents identified during this period was Afriyie Acquah, who would later go on to play professionally in Serie A and represent Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars.

Sillsport Partnership
2010

Sillsport Partnership

A partnership with Sillsport Group led to the expansion of the initiative under the name Sillsport and Glentoran Africa Football Academy. Serving as Director of Operations in Africa, Christopher helped oversee growing activities across Ghana while strengthening the project’s community reach and youth engagement efforts.

Reflections

Philosophy in his own words.

"
Leadership is often celebrated during moments of visible success, but some of the most important lessons emerge during uncertainty, criticism, isolation, and rebuilding.
"
A person's journey cannot be reduced to headlines, criticism, or isolated moments. Growth often happens quietly through endurance, rebuilding, and the decision to continue forward.
"
Some of the most meaningful journeys are built not through perfection, but through persistence, purpose, reinvention, and the courage to continue building despite adversity.

"Development that does not begin with people will never truly belong to them. I have spent my life trying to close the gap between what is and what should be. Not because it is easy. Because it is necessary."
